Recalculating: New Season

I’ve entered another season of homeschool.

We began kindergarten today! I was both excited and nervous. Trey was just excited. I was glad to see the excitement, and I remembered that as we began school.

Familiarity was part of our start. We started the same way we did last year. Pledge of Allegiance; date, day, season; weather; and then the WALL- all our thoughts and key things to memorize with the Bible, nature and math.

There are many wonderful books to read. Today, in the book by Karen Santorum ‘Everyday Graces’, the devotional titled ‘Pansies’. In the story, God is walking through a garden and hears all the different plants comparing themselves to each other and in doing so are withering away, not growing and being who God designed them to be; except the pansy.

The pansy turns and smiles at God and he remarks to the pansy that she hasn’t fallen into the same trouble as the rest. The pansy told God she was happy to be made small and pretty, as God intended her to be. This made God smile.

So for each of us today, “Like the little pansy, you MUST MAKE UP YOUR MIND to BE CONTENT, and grow into the person you were created to be”.

I hope you know how dearly loved you are by God and how much time and love he puts into you, and his plan for you in this season.

Looking up to God and thanking Him for making me, and YOU- with you!-M
