Here’s a hymn I didn’t grow up with, but heard it as an adult and fell in love with it immediately. It’s a great one to sing in parts and acapella.

It is #Enough that Jesus died. And that He died for me Share on XMy faith has found a resting place
Not in device nor creed;
I trust the Ever-living One,
His wounds for me shall plead.
I need no other argument,
I need no other plea;
It is enough that Jesus died.
And that He died for me.
My Faith Has Found a Resting Place
On this, I can rest my heart and soul.
He died for me… and you.
We were all sin-stained and lost. (Romans 3:23)
But before we even knew Him, He looked down and loved us. (Romans 5:8)
He came down and paid for our debt of sin. (John 3:16-17)
He Paid a Debt
There is a chorus by Ellis J. Crum from the 80’s that says,
We owe Him more than we can ever repay.
There is nothing we can do to pay Him back. Our best deeds are like filthy rags. (Isaiah 64:6)
But He took the punishment for our sins upon Himself! (Romans 3:23-25)
He bore the horrible pain and cleansed us from all sin. (1 John 1:9)
And He rose again, defeating death and the grave! (1 Corinthians 15:56-57)
And that is enough to save us. Nothing else must be done but to accept this free gift of God. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
It is enough!
Praise God!
It is Enough!

“It is enough that Jesus died, and that He died for me.” Thanks for reminding us of this beautiful hymn.
Oh my goodness… did that publish? I th ought I saved a draft. It was only pasted in so I could do my 5 minutes today! It does pretty much stand on its own though. 🙂
What a beautiful reminder. Thank you. – Lori

ThanksAgain! Andreading the actual post! Hope you Holy week will be awesome.
I just have to comment again here, Mandy. That song, “He Paid a Debt He Did Not Owe,” has been on my heart all week! Thank you for sharing here again, and bringing such a sweet confirmation to my heart. Blessings to you dear friend!
I wish we would sing this song and others like more often. I’m afraid that we too often ignore the whole crux of the matter… “Jesus came to save sinners, of whom I am chief.”
Roman 6:23 for the wages of sin is death,but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ our Lord.
